A nation in decline

I have a news flash for you America, just in case, nobody told you, we are a nation in decline. But not for the reasons you think. We are still technically a superpower, our current economic state notwithstanding, with the world’s largest and most expensive working military-industrial complex. We have the some of the world’s most powerful aircraft and accurate missile systems. We could shoot the wings off a gnat at fifty miles. And we still have the classics, ICBMs with which we can still, even thirty years after the Cold War ended, nuke the entire planet until it glows and render it a lifeless husk in 30 minutes or less; you can’t even get a pizza delivered that fast anymore!

We still have overall, the highest standard of living for the average citizen anywhere in the world. We have the best education system that allows almost everyone in the country to aspire to at least a twelth-grade education of varying qualities, for almost no cost. We have some of this planet’s finest educational facilities on these shores, providing higher education to people from all four corners of the globe.

We have a justice system that does more right than wrong, no matter what the media might want you to believe. Yes, it has problems but consider the scale at which we perform justice and law in this country and you would be amazed how often it works, rather than it fails. It should never fail but to err is human.

In this country, no matter how often the government attempts to reroute, redirect or convince you otherwise, we have the right to protest our government and the laws that it creates. Though taken for granted by most of its citizens, it is a right much less common that you might think in many countries of the world. It is something granted to us by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, who, while they were deists, insisted that there be no religion in our statescraft, and while many of them were slave owners, they did understand the nature of freedom and insisted on it for themselves, even if they could not see giving it to their slaves. They were a complex and contraditory bunch, the Founding Fathers, but they had foresight and it has lasted almost two hundred and thirty years, give or take a few.

So what could possibly be keeping America, arguable the most powerful, awesome, magnificient country on Earth from being the true beacon of life, hope, liberty, justice that it believes itself to be?

I can tell you America. It is a lack of vision. A lack of long-term vision. I know, you have heard this all before. But I am going to tell you something different. I promise. I am not running for office, so I am not beholden to any corporate lapdogs who might have paved my way to the office of my choice.

So here is the Truth, as I see it: We are a nation at war with itself. We are suffering from cognitive dissonance. This is the psychological state that describes a condition where two mutual opposing thought processes attempt to be operative at the same time in a single mind. America is cognitively dissonant. We are supposed to be a nation of the most free people in the world, but most people living in this country are slaves to the corporations that control all aspects of their lives. The Industrial Revolution, which was supposed to free mankind from laboring in the fields, just moved their place of labor to the smoky factory floor instead of the oppressive open field. The Industrial Revolution provided cheaper better resources for everyone, without any vision being given to what would happen to all of the things being created that no one would want. We created goods without understanding that there would be trash. A lot of trash. A whole lot of trash. A swirling vortex in the middle of the Pacific Ocean about the size of Texas lot of trash.

It is that lack of vision, of foresight that damns us. We went from a nation of proud individualists who created only what they needed, to a nation of self-centered shortsighted, narcacisstic boobs, who think that texting while driving is an acceptable behavior. No, I am not romanticising the individualists of the 18th and 19th century. They had their reprehensible habits too. I am simply stating that we are flounding here in the early 21st century because we are too busy stroking our handheld phones in a frenzy of texting-chatting-twittering masterbation that we cannot be bothered to take the time to look up, stop for a second and ask the real questions that need to be addressed yet are perhaps politically incorrect. And then ask them anyway.

The Incredible Hulk

The Incredible Hulk was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #1, 1962

The Hulk is the most dangerous of metas and a two-edged sword. He is the epitome of what humans fear the most, incredible power without reason or conscience. While a powerful force for good, he has also been a destructive force that has also cost human lives. It is only with the greatest of regrets that Dr. Banner has not been sanctioned before now. The lives of the three hundred people who have died at the hands of the Hulk are on our hands. This will never happen again. The Hulk is never to be approached without proper military support. It has been determined that in the event of another rampage of the Hulk, that Bruce Banner is to be santioned with extreme predjudice.

Robert Bruce Banner was the son of Dr. Brian Banner, an atomic scientist, and his wife Rebecca. Although Rebecca deeply loved Bruce, who returned her affection, Brian hated the child. An alcoholic, Brian Banner was driven by an insane jealousy of Bruce for being an object of Rebecca’s love. Brian Banner finally murdered Rebecca and was placed in a mental hospital. Bruce, a highly withdrawn, intellectual youth, was raised by his aunt, and internalized his great pain and rage over his childhood sufferings. Later, after his father was released from the institution, the two men attempted a reconciliation. Unfortunately, on the anniversary of Rebecca’s death, Brian attacked Bruce, and in the process of defending himself, Bruce accidentally killed his father, an event which he repressed from memory until recently.Eventually, as an adult and a genius in nuclear physics, Banner went to work at a United States Defense Department nuclear research facility at Desert Base, New Mexico. There Banner met General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross, the Air Force officer-in-command of the base, and his daughter Betty. Banner and Betty Ross eventually fell in love with each other. Banner designed and oversaw construction of the “gamma bomb” or “G-Bomb,” a nuclear weapon that had a high gamma radiation output. Banner was present in the instrumentation bunker at the test site for the first underground test detonation of the gamma bomb. Observing that a civilian had breached security and entered the restricted test area, Banner told his colleagues Igor Starsky to delay the countdown while he tried to get the civilian to safety. Starsky, secretly a Soviet agent, did nothing, confident that Banner would die in the explosion, bringing the project to a halt.

Reaching the civilian, a teenager named Rick Jones, Banner threw him into a protective trench. Before Banner could get himself to safety, the gamma-bomb detonated, and intense waves of radiation reached the surface. Banner was irradiated with highly charged, radioactive particles. Due to an unknown genetic factor in his body, Banner was not killed by the radiation, which instead caused him to transform frequently into the vastly powerful being named “the Hulk” by the military present at the test site.

At first Banner changed into a gray Hulk at sunset and reverted to human form at dawn. Banner’s body eventually changed so that his transformations into the Hulk were triggered by the release of adrenaline when he became intensely excited, no matter what time of the day or night it was. As these changes occurred, the Hulk went from having gray skin to his now more-familiar greenish hue. Usually the Hulk possessed little of Banner’s memory and intelligence and was easily enraged. Hence the Hulk was considered a menace, continually hunted by military forces commanded by the implacable General Ross.

For a short time Banner managed through radiation treatments to maintain enough of his personality when he became the Hulk to control himself in that form, and he even became a founding member of the Avengers. But once again the Hulk lost Banner’s intelligence and became a brutish menace. For a surprisingly long time Banner managed to conceal the fact that he was the Hulk, but his secret inevitably became public knowledge. For years Banner wandered the world as a hunted fugitive, cursed by his recurring transformations into the bestial Hulk. Banner has undergone further changes in his various incarnations over the last few years. He once had the Hulk incarnation separated from his normal human body, although the Hulk ran amok and eventually had to be merged with Banner once again.

There was another point where the Hulk regressed back to its gray form, where it possessed Banner’s memories and intelligence, but also had a more brutish, thug-like personality. The gray Hulk wound up becoming the bodyguard for a mobster in Las Vegas, before changing once again. Eventually, the Hulk’s many different incarnations were integrated into one stable version, a green-skinned Hulk with Banner’s intelligence, but a more aggressive personality. Recently, the Hulk was shown a possible future timeline where a nuclear war devastated the Earth, killing almost all of the super heroes and villains. The one exception to this was the Hulk, who, using his strength and scientific know-how, was able to build a city called Dystopia and protect its citizens from the radiation outside. Gradually, the Hulk, who renamed himself the Maestro, eventually became dictator of the city. The Hulk went to this future time, and, in battle, killed the Maestro. However, he has been haunted by both the memories and the spirit of the Maestro, as well as evidence of that timeline becoming more and more likely. How this will affect the Hulk remains to be seen.

Dr. Bannner has recently been diagnosed with Hodkin’s Disease and with psychological help has recently reintergrated the dissimilar portions of his psyche under his control. Conquering the damaged part of his psyche, Banner is confident that once he physically succumbs to the disease, he will be able to revert to the Hulk and allow the separate personalities free reign. The green intelligent Hulk will have the day and the grey, cunning Hulk, the night. Whether this arrangement will take place and be viable once Banner is unable to control the transformation has yet to be seen.

Height: 5′ 9 1/2″, (Savage Hulk) 7′, (Grey Hulk) 6’6″, (Merged Hulk) 7′ 6″
Weight: 128 lbs., (Savage Hulk) 1,040 lbs., (Grey Hulk) 900 lbs., (Merged Hulk) 1,150 lbs.
Eyes: Brown, (Savage and Merged Hulks) Green, (Grey Hulk) Grey
Hair: Brown, (Savage and Merged Hulks) Greenish-Black, (Grey Hulk) Black

Strength: The Hulk has the potential for superhuman strength [Image] of the Class 100 level, enabling him to lift (press) in excess of 100 tons. The Hulk only attains this strength level when he is enraged. In a totally calm state his functional strength is significantly less, approximately around 70 to 75 tons. In human form, Bruce Banner possesses the human strength of a man his age, height, and build who engages in no regular exercise.

Known superhuman powers: The Hulk possesses the capacity for nearly limitless physical strength. (This statement is not actually true. There are limits to the amount of mass the Hulk can actually move based on leverage, balance of the structure/object lifted, as well as the maximum any organic being can lift without the augmentation of external energy sources. A good estimate would probably be 200 tons before an external energy source would be required. –from the records of Reed Richards.)

The gamma radiation that activated the genetic factor in Banner’s adult body, fortified his cellular structure and added, from some as yet unknown source, over 800 pounds of bone, marrow and tissue to his body (This same unknown realm is presumably where the Hulk receives his enormous energies from, since the Hulk has never been seen to eat the incredible amounts of food required to power organically a physiology such as his.) Previously, this mutation was not a stable one.

The Hulk would periodically revert to the human form of Bruce Banner, losing the extra mass and energy to the same as yet unknown source from which he derived it. Originally, Banner would change into the Hulk at sundown each night, and would revert back to his original human form at dawn the following day.

Later, the process of transformation developed a chemical catalyst, adrenaline. Whereas this secretion simply heightens normal physical abilities in normal human beings, in Banner’s case it triggered a complex chemical/extra-physical process that transformed him into the Hulk. Currently, however, the Hulk’s condition is stable, and he does revert back to the human form of Banner. In times of stress the Hulk’s adrenaline level escalates, causing a corresponding escalation in strength. This is not accompanied by an additional gain in mass, but does appear to promote increased levels of energy efficiency. To date the Hulk has never apparently been provoked into demonstrating a maximum output of strength, hence, its upper limit remains a mystery. The Hulk can use his superhumanly strong leg muscles to leap great distances. The Hulk has been known to cover 3 miles in a single bound.

In addition to great strength, the Hulk’s body possesses a high degree of resistance to injury, pain, and disease. The Hulk’s skin is capable of withstanding great heat without blistering, great cold without freezing, and great impacts without rupturing, although it is possible to injure him. The Hulk’s highly efficient physiology renders him immune to all terrestrial disease. It has also been determined that the Hulk’s healing factor makes it possible for him to recover from injuries that destroy or damage the his cellular materials. In a battle with Vector of the U-Foes, the Hulk loses approximately 80% of his mass and regenerates it nearly instantaneously. In addition to rapid recovery from injuries, this ability has other advantages. For instance, it contributes to his incredible stamina since it greatly retards fatigue poisons from accumulating in his body.

The Hulk has two powers apparently not related to his physical attributes. He possesses the ability to see astral forms, or the psychic manifestations of people outside their bodies. This ability was mentally created by the Hulk following the accidental death of his father, and his subsequent repression of that memory. Fearing that his father’s ghost might come back to haunt him, Banner subconsciously gave the Hulk this power as an early warning for that eventuality. His other mental power is an extra-sensory homing ability which allows him to locate the area in New Mexico where he first became the Hulk. This homing sense seems to be able to work anywhere the Hulk might be in the world. Recently, it was discovered that this power was caused by the Hulk’s attraction to the psychic “remains” of the Maestro, who was killed when he was transported back in time to the exact moment the Gamma Bomb was detonated. Whether the power will continue to work, now that the Hulk understands its origin, remains to be seen.

The senseless and brutal rampages of the Mindless Hulk caused him to become a severe threat to New York City. To protect the innocent citizens of the city and the Hulk from the inevitable lethal force that would be used to stop his rampages, Dr. Strange banished the Hulk to an inter-dimensional nexus point known as the Crossroads of Reality. This nexus point allowed the Hulk to travel to a practically infinite number of inter dimensional worlds. However, the Hulk seemingly could travel to any world except the Earth. To prevent his friend from being stranded on a given world, Dr. Strange cast a spell on the Hulk that would allow him to return to the Crossroads if he became dissatisfied with the world that he is on. Although the spell was to be triggered by the Hulk’s subconscious, he learned how to consciously triggered it. Since his eventual return to Earth, it has not been revealed whether the spell is active or not.

Allies: The Avengers, Rick JonesEnemies: The Leader, The Abomination

The new Superboy was created by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummet and first appeared in Adventures of Superman #500 (June, 1993).
Real Name: Kon-El (name given by Superman)
Alter Ego: Carl Krummett (undercover identity)
Occupation:Cadmus field agent, adventurer, home student
Marital Status:Single Known Relatives: Cloned from Paul Westfield; DNA restructured by Roxy Leech’s genetic pattern
Age: 1, appears physically 16Height: 5’7″
Weight: 150 lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue

Group Affiliations:Project CADMUS, Guardian, Team Superman (Steel, Supergirl and Superman), Young Justice (Robin, Impulse, Wonder Girl, Arrowette, Secret), The Ravers; Legion of Super-Heroes (honorary member); formerly Justice League America

Overview: Superboy was one of the four costumed figures who claimed to be Superman after the Man of Steel had been killed by the creature known as Doomsday. Believing himself to be a clone of Superman, Superboy escaped from Project Cadmus with the help of the Newsboy Legion and attempted to pick up where Superman had left off. The Metropolis Kid did his best to protect his adopted city, until the real Superman returned.

Superman, allied with Superboy, Supergirl, Green Lantern, Steel, and the Eradicator (the last two of whom also having claimed to be the Man of Steel), destroyed Engine City, a massive device of destruction, formed from in the wreckage of Coast City. Superboy finest hour came when he saved Metropolis from destruction at the hands of Mongul and the Cyborg Superman (Hank Henshaw), when a missle launched from Engine City was to strike Metropolis. Shortly thereafter, Superboy learned that he was not, in fact, a clone of Superman, but of the director of the Cadmus Project, Paul Westfield.Known Super Powers: Superboy possesses only one real superpower which he calls “tactile telekinesis”. Somewhat of a misnomer since it acts as more than mere telekinesis, rather the psionic version of a swiss army knife. As long as Superboy is touching an object he is able to affect it with his telekinesis. This allows him to perform a variety of effects:

Superstrength: His full strength is undetermined at this time. He, like Superman seems to be able to lift anything he can conceive of. To date he has lifted the worlds largest yacht using his telekinetic strength (a feat of at least 600 tons).) Objects lifted with his telekinetic strength do not crumble under their own weight or internal stresses. It is conceivable as his will power and concentration improve, so will his superstrength increase. This does not truly count as superstrength in the traditional sense, since Superboy has been bound with chains that were surrounded by an energy field and he was unable to escape because he could not directly affect the chains with his power.

Flight: Superboy is able to fly using a reflexive action of his telekinesis, literally dragging himself through the sky. His concentration is required to maintain great speeds. His fastest recorded speed has been seen at Mach 2.94 (viewed from satellite tracking station Gamma 6) and his greatest distance flown unaided has been approximately 12,000 miles.

Limited Resistance to Injury: By creating a field around his body, he is able to resist or reduce injury from non-energy based attacks by causing the object to be deflected from his personal force field. Bullets and shrapnel are easily deflected. This field does not repel gases or energy based attacks well, though his skill in deflecting energy attacks is improving.

Improved Metabolism: This may not be a direct affect of his telekinetic aura but without further study it is listed as such. Superboy has a super-healing factor which allows him to recover from injury a lot faster than a normal human being would. This has helped him survive nuclear annihilation, recovering from diseases that would kill normal humans, and the ability to get up after getting fighting powerful metahumans such as Knockout, the Shark or Valor. Superboy’s reflex action is also increased allowing him, with concentration, to knock bullets out of the air, and deflect arrows.

Telekinetic Disassembly: By touching an object, Superboy may cause that object to literally fall to pieces. It can be assumed that he could conceivably put an object back together, if he understood how the object functioned in the first place.

Creating Shockwaves: He may by directing his telekinesis downward create shockwaves through the earth to disrupt his opponents movements or balance.

Superboy is gradually being trained by Guardian to improve his use of his single super power by being creative.

Weapons: For a time Superboy wore a eye-visor made by professor Emil Hammilton that gave him Infared Vision, Microscopic Vision, Telescopic Vision, X-Ray Vision, and Heat Vision. This weapon was lost, then used against The Kid, so he destroyed them to prevent anyone from getting hurt if they were ever taken by a villain again.

Weaknesses: Strangely enough, Superboy is vulnerable to Kryptonite, perhaps for the same reason as his namesake. His body absorbs radiant energy from the sun to fuel his powers and as such Kryptonite is a deadly radioactive material that displaces solar energy in his body, and poisons him by being held within his cells in the place of normal solar energy.

Superboy, is not invulnerable to gases or energy based attacks and if his concentration can be affected, he will lose or reduce his effectiveness for the use of his other powers. Strength, Flight and Damage Resistance almost function as intuitive powers but any weapon that attacks his mind could reduce him to being relatively defenseless.

NOTE: It is theorized that Superboy’s powers will continue to develop and having learned that a Hypertime version of himself named Black Zero continued to develop further and had more diverse powers with significantly greater control. Black Zero had a psionic version of heat vision, (which could be a form of directed pyrokinesis) and it might be safe to assume that Superboy will develop other powers in time. Unfortunately, his body’s aging process has been arrested due to cellular damage that has been stabilized by the introduction of Roxy Leech’s genetic material. As a result, Superboy does not appear to actually age, but reports of this have not been properly confirmed since a lack of cellular aging and decay would imply a form of virtual immortality.

Adam Warlock

Him (Warlock’s previous alias) first appeared in Fantastic 4 number 66. Adam Warlock was later created by Jim Starlin and first appeared as Warlock in….
The Power of Adam

Occupation: World SaviorFormer Affiliations: The Infinity Watch

Known Relatives: Her, genetically Warlock’s twin sister (now known as Kismet) Base of Operations: Formerly Counter-Earth, Soul-World, Monster Island. Now the known Universe.History:
Him: The Early Years
Warlock is an artificial being, created by researchers at a complex known as the “Beehive”. The goal of the researchers there was to create the perfect human being, the pinnacle of future human evolution.
Fortunately for the denziens of Earth, the new being was a creature beyond the control of his creators. The creature emerged, known only as “Him”, and immediately sensed that his creators sought to use him for evil ends. He lashed out, damaging the complex and injuring his “fathers”, and promptly escaped. Unfortunately, “Him” was a being with no life experience due to his unique conception. He promptly encountered Thor, and attempted the abduction of the Lady Sif in order to mate with her (an act that would be repeated in a more benign but no less infuriating fashion by his gene-sister “Her”, now known as Kismet.). Thor naturally took offense to this kidnapping, and promptly beat the young Godling to near-death. Warlock promptly retreated to the safety of a regenerative coccoon and thus was later reborn. To The Stars
Upon his rebirth, Him was renamed as Adam Warlock by the High Evolutionary, who became a guiding force in the life of the reborn Godling. The High Evolutionary gave Warlock purpose, direction, and one more thing…the vampiric Soul Gem. Soon afterwards, Warlock journeyed to the planet called Counter-Earth, an experiment of the High-Evolutionary’s that had recently gone awry. Counter-Earth had been an attempt to create a utopian society, and it had been so until it’s recent contamination by the evil Man-Beast. Warlock battled the cunning creature to no avail, until he formed a somewhat unusual and narcissistic plan. Warlock set out to become the one, true God of Counter Earth. To do this he crucified himself and died, only to rise from his ressurrection coccoon 3 days later (sounds familiar eh?). His rash gamble worked, and Counter-Earth was saved (years later, the planet would fall to the influence of another.).

My Enemy…My Self
Soon afterwards, Warlock would come into contact with a malicious being known as the Magus. Warlock soon found out to his horror that the Magus was in fact a twisted future incarnation of himself, totally insane and horribly powerful. As the head of the Universal Church of Truth, the Magus had ground billions of lifeforms across the cosmos under his heel. Warlock battled him, but could not succeed on his own for his future self posessed vast might. Eventually, with the help of Pip the Troll, Gamora, and the nefarious Thanos of Titan, Warlock succeeded in eliminating the Timeline from which the Magus sprang, thus cancelling his existance retroactively throughout time. Then, in a brilliant, yet disturbing counter-move, Thanos projected Warlock 2 years into the future where he encountered his dying self, embittered, preparing to give birth anew to the Magus. Warlock then took the soul of his dying future self into the Soul-Gem, thus ending the threat of his evil counterpart.

My Ally…My Enemy?
However, as forseen, Warlock would meet his end two years later. Thanos planned to snuff out the stars themselves, and his ward, Gamora, found out about his plan. She attacked him and was struck down brutally. Warlock found her soon afterwards and took her soul into his Gem, learning the full extent of Thanos’ plan in the process. Distraught and enraged, Warlock sought out allies to assist him in his gambit against the Mad Titan. He journeyed to earth, and to the mansion HQ of the mighty Avengers. There he told them, and the recently arrived Captain Marvel and Moondragon of Thanos’ plan to blow all the stars from the heavens. The Avengers then made immediate plans to attack Thanos’ starship, the Sanctuary II. However, as he had in an earlier scheme to gain ultimate power, Thanos would sow the seeds of his own Destruction. Thanos purposely enraged Adam Warlock, by wiping the mind of Adam’s companion Pip, and leaving him to be found. When Warlock found Pip’s mindless form, he drew his friend’s spirit into his Soul-Gem. But before Thanos had attacked Pip, he told him of his plan. And when Warlock drew Pip’s soul into the Gem, he learned of the plan. Warlock and Captain Marvel immediately attacked Thanos, destoying his projector. Mar-Vell was rendered unconcious, but Warlock savagely attacked Thanos, who promptly struck him down. Before Thanos could move his Star-Gem into another Projector, he was attacked by Thor and Iron Man, who followed behind Warlock and Mar-Vell. Thor attacked Thanos, while Iron Man shattered the Star-Gem. Thanos teleported away with Warlock’s body, and led his crew to defeat the Avengers. With Warlock’s gem he possessed enough Power to at least desroy the Earth’s Sun. But before he could do so, a wild card was introduced in the form of Ben Grimm (The Thing) and Spider Man, who was compelled to find the battleground by Lord Chaos and Master Order. Spider Man freed the Avengers and in the melee’ that followed shattered the sphere holding the Soul-Gem. The gem hit the floor and in a flash of light the Soul of Adam Warlock appeared from within the Gem. Now a being of pure energy, Warlock lunged for the panicked Thanos, and killed him, turning the Titan’s body into solid Granite. Afterwards, the spirit of Warlock retreated back into the blissful world inside the Gem itself.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega”
Warlock would live peacefully for several years in Soul World, with Pip and Gamora, until Thanos again became a threat to all who lived. Encountering Drax the Destroyer and the noble Silver Surfer after Thanos abducted their souls, Warlock made plans to thwart the Titan once more. Warlock projected the Souls of himself, Pip, and Gamora into three recently deceased humans. His powers reshaped their shattered bodies into new, more powerful versions of their old bodies. Then he went about gathering Earth’s remaining Champions to attack Thanos on his space platform. However, the attack by Earth’s heroes was a distraction designed to allow the Silver Surfer to snatch the allmighty Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos’ grasp. He failed. After ascending to the crux of all reality after defeating the Universe’s mightiest cosmic beings, Thanos lost his divinity due to the machinations of his “granddaughter” Nebula. Thanos was then talked into assisting Warlock in Nebula’s defeat, whereupon Warlock himself gained the Gauntlet and ascended to Godhood. Warlock was soon afterwards convinced that he was unworthy to become supreme, and then divided the gems amongst Himself (Soul), Gamora (Time), Pip (Space), Drax (Power), Moondragon (Mind), and secretly Thanos (reality). The newly formed Infinity watch defended the Gems against the machinations of those who would misuse them. This included the reborn threat of the Magus (this version however, was merely Warlock’s expelled evil nature, and was thus just a shade of Warlock himself.), Warlock’s “good” side, the Goddess, and the evil extradimensional Count Abyss.

Back from the Ultraverse
However, a threat arrived from a different Universe. A threat called Rune, a vampiric Dark God whom succeeded in stealing all of the gems from their guardians. Before Rune could become aquainted with his newfound might, the heroic Silver Surfer attacked him, spurred on by the Living Tribunal. The Surfer shattered Rune’s right hand, scattering all of the gems (save for the Soul Gem, which had alighted on Rune’s forehead.) and causing them to be lost into the other Universe beyond. The Infinity Watch then fell apart, having no gems to protect. Afterwards Warlock promptly left, searching the Universe for his Soul Gem, despite its’ betrayal. During his long search, Warlock was pulled into a gateway between our Universe, and the neighboring Ultraverse. He awoke…projected into the distant past, to discover a gathering of worshippers hailing him as their Messiah. In the weeks that followed he discovered that he was upon a vast construct called the Godwheel, and in the presence of Warrior Priests who needed a savior to help them defeat a Dark God. This Dark God turned out to be the evil Rune himself. Soon, the hordes of Rune attacked, killing scores of the Warrior Priests, and turning the battle into a massacre. Rune and Warlock met on the field of battle and fought long into the night. Finally, Warlock fatigued, and Rune plunged his blade through Warlock’s chest, wounding him mortally. As Warlock lay dying, Rune attempted to drain his soul, but failed due to Warlock’s supreme astral control. Rune howled his frustration into the night, as Warlock died, and was promptly surrounded by his regenerative coccoon. He awoke…centuries later into the present of the Ultraverse, with newfound abilities that made up for the loss of his Soul Gem. After a few adventures in the Ultraverse, Warlock found a gateway back into our Universe. His current activities are unknown, but Warlock expressed a desire to search out Kismet, and explore their sibling relationship.

Warlock is a natural martial artist having received no formal training. His style emphasizes his preternatural reflexes, high agility, intuitive fighting and knowledge of an opponent. He has a natural ability to analyze patterns and this is linked to a high order intelligence and extreme will power, making him a formidable opponent to all but the most powerful metahumans.

Warlock has a powerful intuitive sense and awareness of other realms of existance. This is due in part to having an existance outside the realm of the Universe due to an edict from Master Order and Lord Chaos. Because of this edict and from time spent as a near omnipotent being, Warlock is aware of the fundamental underpinnings of the Universe at a level far beyond the understandings of most mortal beings.

Strength level:
Warlock possesses superhuman strength, allowing him to lift (press) 10 tons. When further enhanced by cosmic energy, Warlock’s strength increases to a degree that allows him to lift (press) 50 tons. When Warlock recreated his new body for himself, Gamora and Pip, it is unknown whether he made any particular modifications for these bodies. It is possible that he may be stronger than this now and chooses not to reveal it to his opponents.

Known Superhuman Powers:
Warlock possesses the ability to fly under his own power at supersonic speeds inside an atmosphere. He can achieve speeds of Mach 3 or better (2200+ mph). In space, Warlock can fly faster than the speed of light. He is also able to create space warps in an undisclosed manner, most likely through the manipulation of the Cosmic Energies he naturally absorbs from his surroundings. He possesses an enhanced metabolism and durability, and also reflexes enhanced over normal human levels. Warlock also possesses several psionic abilities such as telepathy and a sense of cosmic awareness. Lastly, Warlock possesses the ability to draw upon sources of cosmic energy for a variety of effects including the projection of concussive blasts. However, when Warlock was in possession of the Soul Gem, it drew upon his life force so heavily that it severly hindered his abilities to absorb and manipulate cosmic energy. Perhaps Warlock’s most interesting ability is his power of regeneration. When injured sufficently (either mentally or physically.), Warlock can create a coccoon around his body. After which he enters a state of deep hibernation, and then in that state he regenerates his body completely. Sometimes, in the past Warlock has shown that such a state can make him more or less powerful, depending on how long he remains in hibernation.

The Karma Staff: an expression of his will, the staff allowed Adam to project bolts of energy, perform minor telekinetic feats and deflect energies directed at him. It allowed him to focus mystical energies more effectively.

The Soul Gem:
One of six, the Soul Gem is a segment of a superintelligent, omni-powerful, primal entity that split itself into six tiny but powerful objects known as the Infinity Gems. This entity whose name was unknown but whose effect on the local universe has been extraordinary. The Infinity Gems seem to have an intelligence of their own but only the Soul Gem has been studied with any detail. The Soul Gem seems to have a malevolent personality, bent on satisfying its own needs, in this case, a need for new souls to inhabit its internal pocket nexus. The Soul Gem creates a symbiotic relationship with its host organism, providing protection, sustenance, and power, in exchange for new souls. The High Evolutionary was evidently strong enough to resist its lure since he was already powerful enough, but the Gem convinced him to allow Adam Warlock to possess it even though the High Evolutionary knew how dangerous the Soul Gem was.

Strangely enough, the pocket reality of beings captured by the Soul Gem is a place of peace and calm, where all captured souls share a communal consciousness and well-being. To date only a few souls have ever left the Gem for any length of time, and until recently Adam Warlock, the Magus, Gamora, and Pip the Troll are the only beings to ever do so without returning. The Soul Gem possesses several powers of its own, and will when it feels willing, contribute them to the host organism that wears it. Among these powers are: the awareness of nearby souls and their emotional states, the disruption of Karmic energies within a soul, causing unconsciousness or mental instability or even death, the projection of energy in powerful concussive bursts, the physical augmentation of a host’s natural abilities, and the collection of an unwilling being’s soul essence and placing it within its nexus. The Gem does drain spiritual essence from its host if it is not satisfied. This transfer of essence does cause personality shifts in the host organism, but it is not permanent. Since the Soul Gem was part of an all powerful being, it is possible that it is capable of other as yet undocumented feats.

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston and first appeared in All Star Comics #8.

Species: Magically created, apparently human
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 135 lbs.
Hair: Black
Eyes: BlueOccupation: Visiting lecturer at the Gateway City

Group Membership: Justice League of America

Overview: Wonder Woman is considered to be one of the most powerful women alive today. She has few equals among women (or men for that matter), Maxima, former member of the Justice League and Big Barda a current member and, wife of Mister Miracle being two of her peers. Wonder Woman possesses super-human strength and is capable of flight. Trained in all ancient Greek methods of hand-to-hand combat, she also has the speed of Hermes, which lets her deflect bullets with her silver bracelets. The Lasso of Truth, forged from the girdle of Gaia, forces anyone in its hold to tell the absolute truth. Wonder Woman serves as a member of the newly formed Justice League of America.

Historical References: Wonder Woman ReferencesTraining: Diana was raised from her moment of creation to be the greatest warrior that Paradise Island ever created. She is an extremely capable martial artist, trained since childhood, in the ways of ancient hand to hand warfare with a wide variety of weapons from various ages. Highly skilled with almost any weapon ever made, Diana specialized in the use of the bow and the javalin. Because of her martial training, she is able to hold her own against opponents of superior physical strength. She has stood toe-to-toe with Superman and the God of War, Ares. She is also an accomplished strategist and tactitian, trained in the arts of leadership and persuasion. She has proven to be a compelling leader, with the ability to convince those who follow her to brave any peril, no matter how insurmountable the odds. Diana is also possessed of incredible courage, confronting foes such as Kalibak and Darkseid as well as against various monsters of myth and legend.

Our records have been updated to reflect new information regarding Wonder Woman. We now know Wonder Woman was crafted from clay on an island in another dimension tangent to this one, and embued with life energy from the Greek Gods. These energies maintain her lifeforce and bestow great abilities upon her. Many of these abilities imitate powers of the Greek Pantheon.

Her primary powers include:
Superhuman strength: It is obvious her strength is magical in nature, given her height and weight. Her strength is near the order of SupermanÕs or Captain MarvelÕs. With her superhuman strength and superior fighting abilities, she has proven to be a match for either one of them at one time or another. Her strength level has been augmented in the past with the Gauntlet of Atlas but Wonder Woman was unable to control the level of enhanced strength the device gave her.

Limited Invulnerability: Her resistance to injury is not quite as great as any of the above mentioned metahumans. She has withstood considerable bludgeoning damage in the form of hand to hand combat with metahuman opponents (such as Superman and Captain Marvel) and physical damage (as seen when she is knocked back through two multi-story office buildings and then buried beneath them). She seems more vulnerable to energy attacks but she deflects most ranged attacks when she can. She has considerable resistance to human weaponries, although there are inconsistancies in her ability to resist injury, the variances are probably due to discrepancies in observation. Perhaps her ability varies with some as for yet unknown condition that strengthens or weakens her in relationship to her Pantheon of patron dieties.

Superhuman Reflexes: Wonder Woman possesses reflex abilities similar to lower-level speedsters such as Jesse Quick and Max Mercury, somewhere in the range of 8 to 20 times normal human reflexes with concentration. She, however, does not maintain her enhanced speed awareness due to the temporal difficulties such thinking causes her. She seems able to keep up with Jesse Quick, referencing her patron diety of speed and messenger of the gods, Hermes as the source of her powers.

Superspeed: It is unknown how long she can maintain a speedsterÕs average pace (which we clock at approximately 125 mph (2.08 miles/second) to 200 mph (3.3 mile/sec) innercity and 225 mph (3.75 miles/sec) to 500 mph (8.3 miles/sec) over land outside of cities). Since Wonder Woman lacks the speed aura of true speedsters, the environmental effects/disruptions that she causes probably prevent her from utilizing superspeed mobility as a common mode of travel. With bracers forged by Hephastes, Wonder Woman boosts her resistance to injury with her near-indestructible bracers. She is able to deflect attacks that might otherwise cause her considerable injury but she can only deflect attacks she is aware of.

Flight: Wonder Woman is capable of unassisted flight through an as yet unknown but probably magical means. She has been clocked at Mach 3 (2,100 mph, 35 miles per second) in flight and can be presumed to be much faster if she wanted to be. No reliable ceiling is known but atmospheric distubances occur at speeds greater than Mach 10 (7,000 mph, 116 miles/sec) so that is probably her limit in atmosphere as well. Her aerial manuevability is not as developed as aerial combatants such as Hawkman or the Black Condor, but she is a relatively capable aerial combatant as well.

Weapons: Wonder Woman has had in her possession a variety of weapons and devices during her time as an ambassador to the Man’s World. She has used a magical sword reputed to be able to cleave almost any material and magical shield on occasion, her indestructible bracelets, her weapon tiara, which could be used a boomerang, the Sandals of Hermes for flight, (which she no longer needs), and even the Gauntlet of Atlas, which was actually given to Artemis to give her increased strength and allow her to compete fairly with Wonder Woman during their contest on Theymescria.

Even without her superhuman abilities, Wonder Woman has been trained in various martial arts, weaponscraft, and statescraft. She is an extraordinary Olympic-level athlete trained in all of the classic techniques of the Amazons.

Lansinar Morphing Disk: Wonder Woman has at her disposal a small lightweight disc which, when triggered by Wonder Woman’s thoughts, morphs into a transparent version of whatever vehicle appropriate for the event. It has also been transformed into a telepathic relay device to allow Diana and Jade to communicate with her mother in Theymescria. Recently the device was seen to grow to gargantuan proportions, nearly the quarter of the size of Gateway City, destroying portions of it in the process to produce a new city-like interior and appeared to have sentient or semi-sentient properties after being stimulated by the dark diety Oblivion. It has been christened the Wonderdome.

Golden Lasso of Hestia/Girdle of Gaia: Made of an unknown golden metal, supposedly from the Girdle of Gaia, the Lasso is approximately 150 feet long and has successfully restrained Superman, Ares and Hades within its coils. It seems to be under the telekinetic control of Diana and she has used it upon occassion as a means of subduing or restraining opponents. It has over the years been claimed to have special powers that force anyone within its coils to tell the truth, but that has not been substantiated.

Industructible Bracelets: Wonder Woman possesses two bracelets forged by Haephestes (all Amazons wear them) of an unknown material. As a feat of speed and reflexes, Amazons use these bracelets to deflect projectiles. Since Wonder Woman is resistant to high caliber weapons fire, she still performs the manuever to demoralize her opponents, test her skill or when confronted by weapons of greater potency.

Other Devices: Diana, for a time, held the Gauntlet of Atlas, a specialized gauntlet that increased her strength even further. This device was given to Artemis, the former Wonder Woman who was killed (and later resurrected) to allow her to be able to engage the physically stronger Diana in hand to hand combat. Diana took the Gauntlet from Artemis after she was killed by the White Magician. Diana then used the Gauntlet to kill the White Magician. Diana stopped using the Gauntlet after she killed the White Magician because it made her superhuman strength so great that she was unable to control it easily. The Gauntlet ended up in the hands of the new Wonder Girl until she was granted superhuman powers by Zeus. It is presumed that Zeus reclaimed the Gauntlet.

Weaknesses: It is interesting to note that her height and weight make her vulnerable to attacks that cannot be blocked and that potentially move her from location to location. Repulsion technology might be an efficient means of attacking and subduing her since she cannot block area effect attacks and her true height and weight are independent of her strength. This technique was used against her to great effect in some of her recent JLA battles.

Nothing is known of the life of the girl know only as Secret before she became a ward of the D.E.O. (Department of Extranormal Operations). Here she was kept in an airtight room, so that the D.E.O. could observe her as her meta-human powers grew. As she grew older and more confident in her powers she discovered that she could leave her room in her gas form. Leaving her cell at night she could travel the facility undetected, and she soon found out that there were dozens of other “subjects” like her, that, the D.E.O., were performing cruel, and torturous test on.
When the doctors discovered what she knew the decision was reached that she be terminated. Secret managed to escape the compound, and hide from her captors in a neighboring town. It didn’t take long before the D.E.O., discovered her whereabouts, and set out to evacuate the town. This brought the attention of Robin, Superboy, and Impulse who decided to investigate. When the boys managed to capture Secret, she pleaded with them to let her go. Suspicious of the D.E.O.’s motives the boys decided to free her, and help in faking her death. Secret now roams the world enjoying her freedom, while the boys keep her existence, a secret.POWERS AND WEAPONS
Secret is a meta-human who developed the ability to turn her body into a gaseous form. However, as she grew older her meta-human powers became stronger and stronger, and now it seems that she can no longer assume a non-gaseous form. In her gaseous state Secret can transform her body into any shape that she wishes. Whether or not she can alter the toxicity of her gaseous state as Doctor Charles of the D.E.O. told Superboy, Robin, and Impulse remains to be seen.Secret has also been seen to change her size, become partially invisible, and even to appear to teleport short distances, something that has been designated “smoke-jumping”. In the incident with the psychic being Despero, there were reports of an alternative personality briefly demonstrated by Secret. Further reports will be required to confirm this.

First appearance: TALES OF SUSPENSE #52

Natalia Romanova, a descendant of Russia's royal family, was
found as a young child by a Russian soldier known as Ivan
Petrovitch, who watched over her as she grew up and today
works as her chauffeur. Romanova proved to be a brilliant
scholar and athlete as she matured, and in her teens gained
fame in the Soviet Union as a ballerina. She married the
renowned Soviet test pilot Alexi Shostakov. It was decided
at the KGB, the department of the Soviet government which
served as its intelligence agency and secret police, that
the Shostakovs would make good special operatives. While
Alexi Shostakov was away on a mission, he was informed of
the state's new plans for him, and told that from then on he
could have no contact with any of his past friends and
acquaintances, including even his own wife. Shostakov was
then trained to become the Red Guardian, a costumed agent
who was intended to act as the Soviet Union's counterpart to
Captain America. Meanwhile, a Soviet official told Natalia
Shostakova that her husband had died in the explosion of an
experimental rocket he was testing. Distraught, Natalia
Shostakova said that she wanted to do something to be worthy
of the memory of her heroic husband. The KGB had anticipated
her reaction, and trained her to become the spy known as the
Black Widow. Some theorize that Romanova was trained in the
nearly mythical location known as the "Red Room."

At first the Black Widow did not act as a costumed agent.
Her first major field assignment was to infiltrate Stark
Industries in the United States and to assist her partner
Boris Turgenov in the assassination of the defector
Professor Anton Vanko. The Black Widow was thwarted
repeatedly by the original Iron Man in her various schemes
against Stark Industries. The Black Widow used Hawkeye, who
was then sought as a criminal and who found himself
attracted to her, as an ally in some of her subversive
activities. The Widow was given her first costume in her
fourth major mission in the United States. However, her
growing love for Hawkeye led to a weakening of her resolve
to continue her missions for the Soviets. Hawkeye refused to
act as a criminal any longer, and successfully sought
amnesty and Avengers membership.

The Black Widow fell into the hands of intelligence agents
of the People's Republic of China, who brainwashed her into
serving them. They directed her to attack the Avengers, but
she freed herself from the brainwashing, was reunited with
Hawkeye, and defected to the United States. She publicly
revealed her true identity and offered her services to
S.H.I.E.L.D., which has made use of them on numerous

Her romance with Hawkeye ended, as did her subsequent love
affair and partnership with Daredevil, although she remains
friends with both men. She was a member of the Champions of
Los Angeles, and serves from time to time as a member of the
Avengers. She remains active as a freelance adventurer.

Height: 5' 7" Weight: 125 lbs. Eyes: Blue Hair: Red-auburn
(formerly dyed black)

Strength level: The Black Widow possesses the normal human
strength of a woman of her age, height, and build who
engages in intensive regular exercise.

Known superhuman powers: None

Abilities: The Black Widow is an Olympic level athlete and
gymnast, and a master of several martial arts, including
karate, judo, akido, savate, and boxing. The Black Widow has
had extensive training and experience in a great variety of
espionage skills, and is considered to be one of the world's
most effective and potentially dangerous secret agents.

Weapons: The Black Widow's uniform is equipped with
microscopic suction cups on the portions covering her
fingers and feet, activated by an electro-static charge,
enabling her to stick to walls and ceilings made of standard
building materials.

The cartridges of her wrist-bracelets contain a
spring-loaded cable capable of shooting a hooked wire a
hundred feet. Called her "widow's line," the cable is
primarily used for swinging from building to building. The
wrist-cartridges also carry a small device capable of
emitting a high frequency electrostatic charge of 30,000
volts a maximum distance of ten feet. This electro-blast,
called her "widow's bite," is sufficient to stun a man at
twenty feet. Other cartridges in her wrist-bracelets contain
tear gas pellets and a radio transmitter. She also sometimes
wears a belt of metallic disc-cartridges. Each of these
contains a plastic explosive equivalent to four pounds of

Major enemies: (former) Galactus; Mephisto, Elders of the Universe, Thanos
Group membership: (former) The Defenders
Base of operations: Mobile throughout the known universe
First appearance:FANTASTIC FOUR #48

Intelligence: Above normal
Strength: Superhuman class 100
Flight speed: Warp speed
Stamina: Godlike
Fighting skills: Average hand-to-hand combatant, relies wholly on cosmic energy powers.

Superhuman physical powers: The Silver Surfer possesses vast cosmic power granted him by Galactus as a part of the process of physically restructuring the Surfer’s former organic
body. The Silver Surfer has the ability to manipulate cosmic energy for a variety of effects. He has the ability to channel ambient cosmic energy into his body at will, and expel it violently as concussive force or gently as a means to restructure molecules according to his mental design.

He can generate beams of energy through his hands with sufficient destructive force to level a large city or generate such subtle amounts of energy to restructure the molecules of the natural dyes within a plant to change its color. The Surfer can rearrange the molecules of matter to create other configurations, but he cannot transmute elements. He can also direct this energy in a variety of other ways including the erection of force shields, molecular reconstruction and creation of objects, healing, augmentation of strength at superhuman levels; flight at near-light speeds through interstellar space and through hyperspace; near total physical invulnerability, ability to exist without food, sleep, or oxygen in space.

Durability: He can withstand great extremes of temperature caused by the build-up of friction within atmospheres or the vacuum of space or (within limits) the intense heat within the near vicinity of stars. He can survive without difficulties in the vacuum of outer space and hyperspace, and his body can withstand the stresses of travel at near-light speeds in this universe and of even greater speeds, in hyperspace.

Senses: The Silver Surfer has certain cosmic energy enhanced perceptions which enable him through concentration to become aware of the patterns of energy which surround him. The Surfer can sense the lifeforce of a planet from thousands of light years away. Accordingly, he can sense great concentrations or deployment of energy anywhere in the world. He has a special affinity for the life energies of living beings, and can use his cosmic powers to augment them to a certain degree. While he can use his power to revitalize life energies and heal the wounded, he cannot create life or restore life to the dead.

Superhuman mental powers: Mental command of his surfboard; ability to sense concentrations of energy, including life energies of living beings, over galactic distances, and a perfect sense of direction. Norrin also has a strong personal sense of self, able to resist manipulation from cosmic beings such as Mephisto and Despayre.

Source of superhuman powers: Physical transformation by cosmic power of Galactus.

Zauriel (inactive)

Zauriel was created by Grant Morrison and Howard Porter in JLA #6, 1997.

Species: Divine Humanoid
Height: 7’0″ Weight: 225 lbs, Hair: Grey, Eyes: Red
Other Aliases: Guardian Angel
Group: Justice League, Eagle Host of Heaven (former member)
Origin: Heaven
First appearance:JLA #6, 1997
Known Relatives: NoneOverview:
Active and current member of the JLA. Former Guardian Angel of the Eagle Host of Heaven, Zauriel forsook his immortality and assumed human form in order to be with the woman he protected and loved. The angel also knew of the secret plans of Bull angel Asmodel, who sought to destroy the Earth and conquer Heaven. With the aid of the JLA, Zauriel defeated the traitorous angel’s and became a member of the Justice League. The guardian of the air observes vigilantly from his lofty fortress Aerie high above Los Angeles. No longer involved with the object of his affections, Zauriel looks at his new post as a way of increasing peoples awareness of Heaven in a world where Evil is all too apparent and visible.
No historical references available.Skills and Talents:
Zauriel’s skill base seems quite wide and diverse. Having a million years to practice any skills he wanted, it would make sense that he would have many abilities that we are as yet unaware. His primary abilities are in detection and prevention, since as a guardian angel, he has to protect the interests of his client. Since he is not permitted to interfere in a physical way, we assume that he could only help in a spiritual way. Such help has not been clearly defined as of yet. Zauriel has a keen understanding and knowledge of the Supernatural and Magick, one of the reasons he was selected for membership in the Justice League. Zauriel is also familiar with technology and claims that Heaven has craftsmen capable of creating advanced technology beyond the ken of mortal man. His current battlesuit and Aerie are examples of that technology.

Zauriel does not sleep nor feels the need to rest to recover strength. As such, he appears immune to magic that induces sleep, and has never actually been seen to lose consciousness. His mental abilities include the ability to multitask, and interact with information at a multitude of levels. His aerial sanctuary boast some of the world’s most sophisticated intelligence equipment. He is able to watch multiple programs on multiple monitors and be aware of all of them simultaneously. He claims that he also possesses a level of “higher consciousness” that is constantly watching the environment at a spiritual level. He is able to understand and communicate with animals. This seems an innate ability but we are currently unaware of how extensive the communication is.

Special Powers/Abilities:
It is difficult to say with any clarity where Zauriel’s physical form actually originates from. He claims that he is an angelic being from Heaven, but we have little physical evidence in hand. What has been observed is that he has a humanoid body that is grey-skinned in color, possesses superhuman strength, resistance to injury and flight capabilities.

He appears to possesses low level superhuman strength probably on the order of 20 times the human norm. (This would be 10-15 tons.) His strength is probably not the Angelic norm since the other angel Asmodel seem to have incredible physical strength as well as other powers. Asmodel’s physical strength was great enough that he could defeat the entire Justice League and fight Superman to a stalemate. Zauriel was given a powersuit by Heaven’s artisans. It is unknown how much this suit modifies the abilities of the Angel or whether it has other capabilities built into it.

Zauriel’s ability to take physical punishment is much higher than normal, considering the amount of damage, that he took from Asmodel in a later confrontation, after the King-Angel had be relegated to wearing a flesh-suit. His injuries seem to heal with astonishing speed, though he does not appear to be immortal or invulnerable. Zauriel can be affected by human medications, although his divine nature may make them less potent.

Zauriel is capable of flight with his huge wingspan of almost 20 feet. His actual flight capabilities would still be magical since it is impossible for a man, even with wings to be able to fly as he does without a magical or antigravitational assist. His maximum flight speed and distance is as yet undisclosed.

Weapons and Offensive Capabilities:
Sonic Cry:
Zauriel possesses two means of offensive capability. The first is the sonic cry. The sonic cry was one of his powers he was allowed to keep after he left the Silver City (Heaven). His sonic cry is rarely used and with good reason. It has the power to liquify any target it strikes. It causes incredible damage, particularly to spiritually created constructs such as the flesh-suit of Asmodel. It must be a particularly taxing power since Zauriel will engage in combat, take physical abuse and suffer injury before using it.

Flaming Sword
The second is his flaming sword. This sword seems to be a staple among angelic beings, and all angels seem to possess a personalized weapon. Since these beings appear to be relatively immortal, and everything they do is personalized, it would make sense that each angel would have a weapon keyed to just them. The flaming sword is a devastating weapon capable of rending steel and brick as well as human flesh.

Enemies: Asmodel, King-Angel of the Pax-Dei, Neron, Lord of the Underworld. Others as yet unrevealed.
