Glossary of Terms

Accessories: Any article used or carried by the subject of the entry other than weaponry or transportation.

Adamantium: An artificially created alloy of iron that is most impervious substance found on Earth.

Alternate Earth: A world resembling Earth which coexists with Earth in another dimensional space.

Alternate future: One of the possible future realities deriving from the present reality through a specific sequence of events.

Android: An artificial being designed to mimic the form of a human being.

Anti-matter: matter composed of particles that have the opposite electrical charge as ordinary matter.

Astral body: The sheath or form that contains a living being's life essence, consciousness, spirit, or soul.

Astral projection: The ablilty to project one's astral body from one's physical body.

Bionic: Of or having to do with an artifcial simulation of a living thing or part of a living thing.

Clairvoyance: The ability to percieve things without using the physical senses.

Confidants: persons to whom the subject of the entry has revealed his or her secret identity or other highly confidential material.

Cyborg: Cybernetic organism.

Darkforce: An unknown form of extradimensional energy that manifests as a non-reflective, highly opaque, black substance.

Demigod: A humanoid being possessing almost godlike attributes, but was probably not worshipped. A demigod may be an offspring of a god and a human being.

Demon: A godlike being who preys upon the living is some way, usually possessing some magical powers and living in other dimensions.

Deviant: A member of the evolutionary offshoot of humanity created through experiments performed by the alien Celelstials, possessing no standard genetic physical characteristics other than humanoid form. Deviants tend to look monstrous.

Dimension: A universe or realm containing space, time, matter, and energy.

Eternal: A member of the evolutionary offshoot created through experiments performed by the alien Celestials, possessing extraordinary life spans and a vast array of physical and energ manipulating powers.

God: A humanoid being with a longer life span and greater physical powers than human beings, whose kinsmen or self was once worshipped by human beings.

Homo mermanus: An evolutionary offshoot of humanity who possesses gills and dwells under water.

Hyper-space: A realm of space existing outside of conventional space. also called sub-space or warp-space.

Levitation: The psionic or magical ability to screen the physical body from gravity and thus rise off the ground.

Limbo: A generic term for various dimensions characterized by static or unchanging physical features. True limbo exists outside the timestream itself.

Magic: The art, science, and practice of utilizing certain unknown energies outside the electromagneteic spectrum.

Metahuman: Characterized by skills, abilities, attributes, or powers that are as far beyond superhuman as superhuman is beyond human.

Microverse: A parallel universe that may be reached from Earth by reducing one's mass to a certain point, thereby creating a nexus. They are erroneously thought to exist within the atoms of our universe.

Multiverse: A group of alternate universes that are related in some way.

Mutagenic: Something capable of making celular-level changes in an organism.

Mutant: A being born with physical characteristics or the potential for them that are not possessed by either of its parents.

Mutate: A being who acquires a physical characteristic by benevolent mutation from the exposure to a mutagenic substance.

Negative Zone: An anti-matter universe discovered by Dr. Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic).

Nexus: A point in one dimension through which access to other dimensions may be achieved.

Omnium: A steel alloy stronger than titanium but weaker than Adamantium.

pantheon: A tribe, clan, or race of gods of common origin.

parallel world: A world that exists in another dimension whose reality never diverged from but is parallel to the reality of Earth.

Personal weaponry: Instruments of offensive or defensive combat carried on the subject of the entry's person.

Pocket dimension: A universe whose spatial size is limited.

Precognition: The ability to psionically scan the various alternate futures and (sometimes) predict which one is most probable to manifest.

psionic: Pertaining to the most mental manipulation of the hypothetical subatomic particles called psions.

Psychokenisis: The psionic ability to move or manipulate matter without physically touching it. Synonymous with telekenisis.

Pym particles: Theoretical particles discovered by Dr. Henry Pym that enables size-changing and shunting and accruing of mass from extradimensional sources.

Radar senses: An extrasensory means of perception whereby the brain generates an electromagnetic wave that bounce off objects and travel back to the brain.

Robot: A mechanical being capable of simulating certain human activities.

Sentient: Possessing higher intelligence.

Subterraneans: Any of the offshoots of humanity who have adapted to living beneath the Earth's surface.

Superhuman: Characterized by skills, abilities, attributes or powers that are outside the parameters of acheivement by human beings.

Special weaponry: Instruments of offensive or defensive combat used by the subject of the entry but not usually carried on his or her person.

Telepathy: The psionic or physical abilty to send and/or recieve thoughts directly into other minds.

Teleportation: The Psionic ability to transport one's self or other people or objects from one point in space to another without physically having travelled the space in between.

Time-line: The events of a particular reality that defines its history. Also called a reality line.

Unstable molecules: A configuration of unknown atomic nuclei and electrons discovered or synthesized by Dr. Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) which is responsive to energized matter around it.

Vampire: A magical creature who feeds upon the blood of living beings, created by a spell written by the demon Chthon in the book of the Darkhold.

Vibranium: A precious extraterrestrial metal found only in meteor depsoits in the African nation of Wakanda and the Antartic region called the Savage Land, capable of absorbing vibrations.

Werewolf: A human being who can transform into a wolf or humanoid wolf through magic.
